James, first of all, there is NO "good lord."
Secondly, I didn't realize that YOU were in charge of the XJW Board of Standards and Practices.
I also didn't realize the degree to which you seem to think YOU play an important part in "getting people out of the WATCHTOWER."
My ideal is freedom - freedom that doesn't exist in Dub-land, and doesn't yet exist in the minds of many XJWs. I've had a bellyful of rejecting former friends because SOMEONE else told me to. I will call both Danny and Rick my friends in public (here) and let anyone who doesn't like it be damned.
Fair enough?

This is a typical leftist ploy to shut down dialogue and control the media. It's bogus, just like the guy it is meant to protect.

No one is being forced to listen to Rick Fearon or his SIX SCREENS teleconferences.
If you don't like Rick or don't like the way he does his show - and remember that it is HIS show, not yours - then don't call in and don't listen.
Listen instead to the teleconferences hosted by all the other teleconference hosts on JWN... but there aren't any other teleconferences, are there?
This will undoubtedly cause the fall of Rick's world-wide teleconference empire, and you will have the joy of witnessing him in sackcloth and ashes, begging bowl in hand, pleading for a new skit or crust of comedy, gnashing his teeth and crying, "I don't get no respect... no respect at all."

Cyberjesus, you can't see the forest because you insist on standing up close to one big tree and not looking around.
Too hear you explain it, SIX SCREENS is a continuous stream of "fake stories" instead of the way it actually has been - a continuoous stream of good-to-excellent stories into which an occasional controversy has emerged.
But let's move on already, please. The "Johnny-the-Bethelite" story didn't cause any real harm, did it? It showed us that some XJWs remain as gullible as they were when they were in the Borg, and that some XJWs can still be vicious against their own tribe, just as they were when they were Dubs.
To paraphrase a comedian whose name I can't recall right now, "These are JOKES people! They're just WORDS! No animals were harmed in the making of this farce! Move along now, nothing to see here."
I'd like to know the back story on the whole "Johnny-the-Bethelite" episode; maybe someday we'll hear it from Rick.
Personally I am inclined to think that maybe Rick was intending a satire but over-estimated the sophistication of his audience. Result: an Orson Welles "War Of The Worlds" riot because some people took the joke literally.

Richard is a person of the highest character whom I consider a personal friend, as I do Rick Fearon himself.
Richard Rawe would not be party to any fraudulent dog-and-pony show, he's a big boy and nobody's fool.
Please don't let the recent controversy surrounding "Johnny the Bethelite" color your opinion of all the SIX SCREENS teleconferences.
Rick has made possible thousands of hours of good informative programming.
Don't let this one of those situations where one "Aw, shit!" overrides hundreds of "attaboys."

This has been continuing to roll around in the back of my (diseased) mind for the past few days.
In recent years, what have been the reasons why some people have gone off the Watchtower reservation into the land of thistles and thorns that is Aposta-ville (population: YOU)?
One large reason has been the revelation of the widespread tolerance of pedophilia in the Watchtower bible & Tract Society.
Has the WTB&TS ever said that PEDOPHILES were mentally diseased? Has it ever condemned those who tolerate and wink at such blatant EVIL as MENTALLY DISEASED?
No, but it rushes to characterize lovers of righteousness who will not tolerate the presence of evil as MENTALLY DISEASED.
Barb Anderson and Bill Bowen are mentally diseased? If so, I'll have a double portion of what they're having, please.
Others have left the WTB&TS after learning that it was involved in spiritual promiscuity with the UNITED NATIONS, who has long been represented by the WTB&TS as an ENEMY of God's kingdom.
Has the WTB&TS portrayed those who engage in such two-faced pornea as mentally diseased? Does spiritual syphilis cause MENTAL DISEASE? Does Governing Body gonorrhea cause MENTAL DISEASE?
No, the WTB&TS portrays those who object to their blatant hypocrisy as MENTALLY DISEASED. Curiously, at the same time, out of the other side of their mouths they condemn other religions for their support of the United Nations.
What is the TRUE SOURCE of MENTAL DISEASE? It is the Jehovah mind-meme. Learn how to effectively wash your own brain and cleanse it of this evil infestation!
"Apostates" are standing by, ready to help you if you wish.

New Light @ The 2011 District Convention
by dontplaceliterature in" at the bottom of the image on the back of the invitation raises some eyebrows, but last night in the routine district convention article during the service meeting, i caught that one of the paragraphs mentioned that we would be encouraged to keep a copy of the tract in hand for a discussion during sunday's last talk.
my guess is, there is going to be some new revelation about what the "?
" represents, or some other fangled idea.

Clearly, the question mark is intended as a request for comments and suggestions.
It is a shorthand way of saying, "We haven't got a CLUE. Tell us what you think it prefigures."
The person who first contributes the best answer will be given FREE everlasting life in the Freedom of the Sons of God, reporting directly to the Governing Body. Such a deal!

Can You Explain This? (Blood)
by headisspinning ini don't understand why the wt puts so much time and effort into informing people about the intricacies of blood transfusions and fractions, but they don't really focus attention on the dietary side of not eating blood.
because it was clearly a dietary restriction in the bible and maybe not so clearly in regard to blood transfusions (i'm still pondering this part).. is that ever discussed with bible studies or prior to baptism?
it seems to me that if the command to 'abstain from blood' is so important that people will put their life on the line over it, then shouldn't very clear direction be spelling out in detail about what foods are okay to eat and what foods aren't?

The Easter Bunny told me to refrain from chocolate, but I think he's got a personal reason for this.

Headisspinning, I would like to offer you an alternative viewpoint, which is this: Don't worry about pleasing an invisible imaginary character.
There are cultures in the world in which blood is part of the normal diet, and these people show no evidence of suffering God's wrath for their dietary indescretions. Neither will you.
Enjoy the freedom of the Sons of God that was your natural inheritance since the founding of the world.
It is not what enters a man's mouth that condemns him, but what proceeds forth from it.
What does that tell you?
